ELEVATOR, ESCALATOR WORK AT OKLAHOMA AIRPORT

2020-01-08

Two escalators too small for travelers with large bags will be replaced with larger, high-speed units as part of a US$5.7-million overhaul of the elevator/escalator lobbies at the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, FOX 25 News reports. In addition, the pair of elevators serving the lobbies will be “completely refurbished.” Aimed at improving efficiency and aesthetics, the work commenced on January 6 on the lobbies, which cover three levels and provide access from parking areas to a pedestrian tunnel and the airport terminal. Wynn Construction is the general contractor, and the project is expected to take approximately a year.
